Hola is an Israel web and mobile application that provides a form of VPN service to its users through a peer-to-peer network. It was founded in Israel in 2007 by Israelis Derry Shribman (who served in the Israeli army as a software engineer and developer in technical departments) and Ofer Vilenski (a former pilot in the Israeli Air Force). Many of the new companies in Israel are founded by individuals who have come out of Unit 8200 , a unit within the Israeli Intelligence Corps of the Israel Defense Forces - Israel's equivalent of Britain's GCHQ or America's NSA - a "signals intelligence" agency which has moved heavily into cyber-operations.
