Additional Details
ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) is a German group and holding company that provides naval vessels, surface ships, and submarines. TKMS is the strategic backbone of the Israeli Navy. The company designed and manufactured 6 Dolphin-class submarines, which were modified to carry cruise missiles capable of delivering nuclear strikes. In 2022, Israel signed a $3.4 billion deal with the company to build 3 additional advanced Dakar-class submarines. The company also built 4 Sa'ar 6-class corvettes (warships), which the occupation army has used extensively to shell the shores of the Gaza Strip and secure gas platforms in the Mediterranean. Historically, the German government covers one-third of the cost of these deals as direct military support to Israel.
