Safran S.A.
Additional Details
Safran S.A. is a French multinational aerospace, defense, and security corporation headquartered in Paris. It designs, develops, and manufactures both commercial and military aircraft engines; launch vehicle, spacecraft, and missile propulsion systems; as well as various other aerospace and military equipment and devices. As demonstrated by a report from the RTBF show Investigation, the company Safran Aero Boosters, located in Herstal, produces parts that end up in the engines of the Israeli military's F-15 fighter jets. In 2010, Safran and Elbit Systems, two major players in the defense industry based in France and Israel respectively, formalized a major strategic partnership to develop, produce, and market tactical drones. Safran's landing systems are used on numerous U.S. military aircraft, such as the F/A-18 fighter, the C-17 transport aircraft, the KC-135 tanker, and the V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft. Safran also provides wiring solutions for Lockheed Martin's F-16 and F-22, Boeing's KC-135R aerial tanker, and the Boeing-Bell V-22. The U.S. Armed Forces utilize Safran's avionics systems and equipment, including autopilots, flight controls, and inertial navigation systems. The CH-53K King Stallion (cockpit controls) and the UH-72A Lakota (avionics suite) are key rotorcraft platforms equipped by Safran. In turn, all of those systems and equipment supplied by Safran for U.S. military aircraft reach the Israeli military, which uses the exact same equipment. Some of these, such as the F-16, have been used extensively in the Gaza genocide . -- Listed on Euronext Paris (SAF), Safran S.A. is backed by leading sovereign wealth funds, most notably NBIM.
