Eurolinks is a leading French global manufacturer of metal ammunition belt links used in automatic weapons and machine guns. Recently, the investigative media outlet Disclose, alongside other independent journalists, revealed that the company shipped large quantities of M27 metal links from its factory in Marseille to Israel. These specific components are designed to link ammunition rounds together into a continuous belt, thereby ensuring the fluid feeding and continuous operation of automatic weapons during deployment. The logistics of these shipments became particularly evident in October 2023, when the company reportedly exported approximately 100,000 units of these links. Deliveries continued periodically after that, with investigative findings highlighting subsequent cargo loads of up to 14 tons of military components intended for machine guns, which were loaded onto cargo ships departing from French ports. These components were shipped directly to IMI Systems (formerly Israel Military Industries), which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Israeli defense corporation Elbit Systems. Elbit serves as the primary contractor responsible for providing ammunition and ground equipment to the military. Ultimately, these links are critical for the basic functionality of both light and heavy machine guns—such as the Negev machine gun, which fires 5.56mm and 7.62mm calibers—utilized extensively by infantry units and armored vehicles.
