Nitro-Chem S.A
Additional Details
Nitro-Chem is a major Polish chemical and defense manufacturing company based in Bydgoszcz, Poland, specializing in TNT production. A Polish MP has claimed that Europe cannot supply enough TNT to defend either itself or Ukraine, largely because the continent's monopoly supplier of the explosive is contracted to send much of its production to the US, which then exports it for use by Israel in Gaza. Maciej Konieczny, a member of the left-wing Razem party, stated that Nitro-Chem—which is owned by the Polish Armaments Group—could not keep up with regional demand. This is partly because the company signed successive contracts to supply TNT to the US, where it is reportedly used in munitions destined for Israel. The Polish explosive is allegedly used by the US to manufacture various types of ammunition, including 2,000lb MK-84 and 550lb BLU-109 penetrating bombs, both of which Israel has been accused of deploying in Gaza.
