Additional Details

Dell Inc., formerly Dell Computer Corporation, is an American technology company that develops, sells, repairs, and supports personal computers (PCs), servers, data storage devices, network switches, software, and computer peripherals (including printers and webcams), among other products and services. Dell is headquartered in Round Rock, Texas. In January 2023, Dell Technologies won a server tender from the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) to supply servers, maintenance services, and related equipment to the Israeli military, the IMOD, and other security agencies for a period of two years. The scope of the tender exceeded USD 150 million and was funded by U.S. foreign military aid. In July 2024, Dell Technologies sponsored and participated in the “IT for IDF” conference. The event focused on the role of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in operational and combat support systems to improve military effectiveness, taking place during the gaza genocide . Previously, in 2019, the IMOD published a tender for the procurement of Dell laptop computers. This followed a significant contract in 2006, when Dell was awarded an Israeli military tender to supply 50,000 desktop PCs worth USD 35 million—marking one of the military's largest computing sector tenders at the time. EMC Corporation (stylized as EMC2) was an American multinational corporation headquartered in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, which specialized in data storage, information security, virtualization, analytics, and cloud computing. EMC merged with Dell Inc. in 2016 to form Dell Technologies. Dell Technologies’ fully owned Israeli subsidiary, EMC Israel Advanced Information Technologies, serves as a primary provider of data storage systems to the Israeli military. In 2010, the subsidiary won a USD 300 million military storage tender funded by U.S. aid. The contract included the supply of storage, backup, and data deduplication systems, as well as hardware components and storage management software for the military and other security agencies. Following this tender, EMC systems became the primary platform for the military's relocation to the Naqab (Negev) region, where new military data centers were established utilizing EMC infrastructure. -- Listed on NYSE (DELL), Dell Inc is backed by leading sovereign wealth funds, most notably NBIM.
