Moovit is an Israel-based mobility as a service provider and journey planner app. Originating in Ness Ziona, Israel in 2012, Moovit has grown into a global powerhouse for Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS). It combines official transit data with crowdsourced information to offer real-time transit directions, journey planning, and ticket purchasing in over 3,500 cities across 112 countries. It was acquired by Intel in 2020 and operates as part of Mobileye. Many of the new companies in Israel are founded by individuals who have come out of Unit 8200 , a unit within the Israeli Intelligence Corps of the Israel Defense Forces - Israel's equivalent of Britain's GCHQ or America's NSA - a "signals intelligence" agency which has moved heavily into cyber-operations.
