Collins Aerospace is an American aviation and defence technology company, which is one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defence products. It was formed in 2018 from the merger between Rockwell Collins and UTC Aerospace Systems. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, it is a subsidiary of RTX Corporation. On November 26, 2018, United Technologies announced the completion of its Rockwell Collins acquisition, after which it merged its newly acquired business with UTC Aerospace Systems to form Collins Aerospace. In 2020 United Technologies merged with Raytheon Company to form Raytheon Technologies, which has since renamed itself to RTX Corporation. with Pratt & Whitney becoming one of the new corporation's four main subsidiaries Collins Aerospace, as part of CEVS, provides the F-35 Gen III Helmet Mounted Display System (HMDS), which shows pilots what’s happening in the skies around them. Collins also provides the landing systems, global positioning systems and air data and sensing systems which allow the F-35 to operate with full situational awareness and return to base or carrier safely.
